Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines specific terms and conditions, including insurance information, rental charges, and your responsibilities. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria

- To rent a vehicle in Bangor, Northern Ireland, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though some vehicle types may have different age restrictions and additional fees for those under 25. A valid full driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Renters must also present valid identification and proof of address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement must be met as well.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or at our Bangor branch. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. Full payment along with a security deposit is generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
4. Car Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Bangor, Northern Ireland, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account reasonable wear and tear. 5. Insurance and Responsibility

You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless further coverage is acquired. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications

7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicles
- Users must not engage in any unlawful activities while using the vehicle, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. The transport of hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized individuals to drive it is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Users must adhere to designated passenger and weight limits and remain within the specified geographical area without prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by Northern Ireland law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraudulent actions.
Governing Law in Bangor
These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of Northern Irish courts.
Updates to Terms
